Senior Operation Engineer

Aker Carbon Capture’ project portfolio ranges from concept studies to large EPC (engineering, procurement and construction). We have now more than a dozen ongoing projects in various phases of development and we are ready for our biggest challenge yet: delivering the carbon capture plant at the Norcem cement plant in Brevik, Norway. This will be the world's first CO2-capture facility at a cement plant.

In the next few years ACC will deliver several full scale CCS-units, as well as operate two Mobile Test Units (MTU) on various flue gases and sites.

The MTU is a small-scale CO2 capture plant comprising all key elements found in a commercial carbon capture plant. Aker Carbon Capture has gained extensive operational experience during long-term testing on real flue gases worldwide. The first MTU has been operated for more than 30 000 hours in USA, Scotland, Sweden and at various locations in Norway. The second unit is even more advances and currently under construction.
 

What will you be doing? We are currently in need for an Operations Engineer to support both our full scale CCS units and our MTU. This is a unique opportunity to take an active part in the development of a green industry and to have a very independent position with a high degree of personal responsibility and a variety of work tasks, both practical and desk-work. The job will have substantial on-site work during test campaigns and project sites, base position can be agreed, but preferably Fornebu.
 

Your responsibilities:
  • Through strong HSSE mind set, ensure safe execution of work for people and the environment 
  • Contribute to development of the operations centre for our CCUS plants and aftermarket agreements 
  • Support the daily operations of our CCUS plants and agreements 
  • Be responsible for delivery of operations requirements to projects 
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of our CCUS products and deliveries 
  • Participate in planning and execution of commissioning, start-up, operation and maintenance of full size CCS plants and the Mobile Test Units.
  • Contribute to operational and maintenance documents in CCUS projects, studies and tendering in Aker Carbon Capture as required
  • Contribute to standardization and general effective execution of CCUS projects in Aker Carbon Capture

  Your qualifications:
  • Technical education, preferably a combination of B.Sc or M.Sc  in process, chemical or mechanical direction. Relevant work experience from similar or related roles may be considered in lieu of education
  • Strong multidisciplinary understanding (mechanical, electro, instrument, process)
  • Knowledge of Control Systems
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up
  • Practical, technical background
  • Operational experienced, preferably from land-based industry
  • Knowledge of HSSE systems and with a practical HSSE mindset
